The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has launched the PSA e-Verification mobile application to allow the public to validate the information displayed against printed security paper (SECPA).

In a Wednesday, August 10 statement, the PSA said the mobile app is a standalone system, which can work even offline.

For now, the app is only accessible on Android devices.

“It is encrypted using public key encryption technology that confirms the authenticity of issued certifications and copies of civil status documents by scanning the Quick Response (QR) code printed in the SECPA, which is now the one of the new features of the civil registration system. – Information Technology Project Phase II (CRS-ITP2),” PSA said.

The CRS-ITP2 was pilot tested on July 11.

PSA said the e-Verification mobile app is free and can be downloaded from its website.
